<p>The 22nd AMY Awards,  presented by AIMIA, are the longest running and most prestigious Awards in Australia&#8217;s Digital Industry. Year after year the AMYs continue to grow in size and success.</p>
<p>The team at Gomeeki have been again acknowledged as leaders in Digital, being announced in two categories in this years AIMIA awards.</p>
<p>The work for Aussie Farmers Direct AisleOne app is looking to follow from on its recent Gold Win in late 2015 for the Australian App Design Awards and take out the Winners spot in two categories:</p>
<ol>
<li>Best Use of Smartphone or Tablet Retail</li>
<li>Best Use of Technology</li>
</ol>
<p>The Awards Winners will be announced on Friday July 15.</p>

<p>Gomeeki has just taken out the winners place for &#8216;Best of Smartphone&#8217; in this year&#8217;s prestigious AIMIA Awards for its mobile app development work with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) on their flagship News apps.</p>
<p>AIMIA is the Digital Industry Association for Australia and the AIMIA Awards celebrate the best digital content from Australia&#8217;s top digital power houses, application companies and major industry suppliers.</p>
<p>Having worked with Gomeeki since 2009, to build their original flagship news products for mobile, the ABC called on Gomeeki again in 2012 to provide API and iOS front end expertise for the relaunch of its flagship mobile apps.</p>
<p>The challenge was gladly accepted with the following overarching goals in mind:</p>
<ol class="numbers">
<li>Simplicity: all the content, none of the hurdles</li>
<li>Serendipity: promoting content discovery beyond focus</li>
<li>Consistency within context: keeping the ABC experience consistent while adapting to the different user flows on iOS and Android</li>
<li>Content by genre: everything about my topic of interest in one place (TV, Radio, Online)</li>
</ol>
<div> The apps now have a stronger focus on News, presenting content from across the ABC (Radio, TV, Online) by genre. Since relaunch, all three are now ranked #1 free NEWS app in the App Store and Google Play, receiving rave reviews from users:</div>

<p>The results speak for themselves. In only 4 months since the March 2013 launch, the number of monthly active users had doubled and new installs (reach) have increased by eight fold, confirming the ABC’s success and leadership in the mobile space.</p>

<p>Business Review Weekly (BRW) is well known for its’ prestigious lists, keeping us informed of the who’s who in business. There’s the Rich lists, Top lists and Fast lists and that’s where Gomeeki comes in, taking a place in this year’s BRW Fast Starters – a list compiled annually of Australia’s 100 fastest growing start-up businesses.</p>
<p>Like anyone looking at a ranking list, we all want to know who came first, so I’ll save that juicy information to the end. No matter their ranking, all of the 100 companies listed in the BRW Fast Starters list have these few things in common:</p>
<ul>
<li>They have been operating for less than four years</li>
<li>They have made a turnover of at least A$500,000 in the last fiscal year</li>
<li>They have higher revenue than the year previous</li>
<li>They have fewer than 200 full-time employees</li>
<li>They must have more than one main customer</li>
</ul>
<p>“The sophistication of the Fast Starters (for 2013) is a great sign for the future of these 100 companies and for the wider Australian business community” James Thomson &#8211; Editor BRW</p>
<p>2013’s group of 100 companies are particularly special indeed, all establishing operations amidst the global financial crisis, coming up smarter, tougher and better prepared. Impressively, a whopping 80% of companies were initially funded by the personal savings of the founders. These are companies who have planned properly, started with the right structures and support networks and who are keeping an eye on the exit, in a time when knowing when to sell is major consideration.</p>
<p>Despite challenging market conditions, Gomeeki was one of 83% of companies to increase their staffing in the past year and also one of 40% of start-ups reporting engagement with mentors as a strategy for success. In 2013, Gomeeki will be joining the 36% of companies using a board of directors to guide future strategy and growth in their Multi-screen solution, mobile marketing business, which as we can see from the number 1 ranking Start-up, is an unstoppable industry in Australia.</p>
<p>So, which start-up topped the BRW Fast Starters list for 2013…? Self-acclaimed as the Facebook of e-commerce, it was the retail brain child of Daniel Jarosch and Rolf Weber, ‘brandsExclusive’ who ranked number 1. Interestingly, nearly half of brandsExclusive purchases come from mobile traffic and operating with 2.5 million members and 16,000 items being dispatched from its warehouse daily, their success in today’s market is glaringly obvious.</p>
<p>It certainly is nice to be recognised as one of Australia’s top 100 bright sparks for 2013. Thanks BRW and to our valued clients and staff who make it all possible.</p>

<p>Gomeeki, a service provider for business mobile marketing, has won the Interactive Media Awards Best in Class Award in the retail category of their Fantastic Furniture mobile site.</p>
<p>The Best in Class award is the highest honour bestowed by the Interactive Media Awards. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism.</p>
<p>Chief Executive of Gomeeki, Shaun Dobbin, said “The Interactive Media Awards recognise the highest standards of excellence in website design and development. We are proud the IMA has identified and awarded our high quality work in the mobile sector.”</p>
<p>Fantastic Furniture enlisted the help of Gomeeki to develop a Mobile website to cater for the growing number of mobile browsing customers entering their regular site.</p>
<p>“To help the Fantastic Furniture brand stay ahead of the competitor curve and maximise on current mobile traffic, we were required to deliver a functional and engaging mobile website where visitors could interact with the brand. We have definitely achieved this,” said Mr Dobbin.</p>
<p>In order to win this award level, the site had to successfully pass through the IMA’s comprehensive judging process, achieving very high marks in each judging criteria &#8211; an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each year.</p>
<p>“The judges were very impressed by our ability to transfer the high level of design, usability and content presentation of the main Fantastic Furniture site to the mobile site,” said Mr Dobbin.</p>
<p>“Our ‘Feature Functionality’ and ‘Site Content’ scored a full 100 points while both ‘Usability’ and ‘Design’ scored 95 and over. We are really proud of these results.”</p>
<p>There were 132 entries submitted in the &#8216;Retail&#8217; category in the 2012 award year with Gomeeki achieving Best in Class with an overall score of 483 out of a possible 500.</p>
